The logo of CNRI was launched on 30 th September 2005 at GURUKUL in the campus of Kurukshetra University , Haryana , India .

It was an auspicious day symbolizing the confluence of planets and sacred rivers when millions of people had assembled for taking a dip in the Brahma Sarovar at Kurukshetra, the holy place celebrated in the Mahabharatha.

The Circle in the logo represents equality and equal opportunity for all.
The Human Beings around the Circle represent Strength and Solidarity.
The presence of Red Colour in the logo indicates the sacrifice required on the part of everyone engaged in the service of the people who are poor and most disadvantaged.
The presence of Blue Colour in the logo indicates the Goal Of Progress and Well-being for all without distinction.

VISION

CNRI is an Apex Body of Non-Governmental organisations of rural India with the specific objective of strengthening, co-ordinating and facilitating their working at the grass root level for integrated development of the rural India and to emerge as a think-tank as well as a consultative body at the national and international level.

MISSION & MAIN OBJECTIVES

The Confederation is established to promote, develop, protect, aid foster and empower, directly and indirectly, the constituent member Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working particularly in rural India, to achieve the following objectives inter alia :

ANCILLARY OBJECTIVES

With a view to promoting the foregoing objectives the Confederation shall have the following ancillary and incidental objectives:

PROVIDED ALWAYS that notwithstanding anything contained herein, the objectives of the Society will not include any objectives, which are not in conformity with sub-section 15 of section 2 of the Income-Tax Act, 1961.
